yeah, you're right.. and it's not just because of janis, i think for many reasons the 60's were such a cool decade to be on your 20's! beautiful music! but then again, we might be just idealizing it, i don't know.. at least now we have hi5 to talk about artists we love (-:

Wow, why hasn't anybody replied since last year?! Personally, I've always felt like I don't belong to this new century. Janis sadly died 5 years before I was born. My mother was a hippie and loved her music so I grew up listening to her tunes; to me she was as part of my life as school or everyday things; I only realized it wasn't the same for everybody else when I found out the music my friends liked, and although the 80's had their charm nothing seemed to be fairly close to what Janis made me feel. I really believe I sould have lived the 60's and at least exist in this world while she was alive, feeling that craving for a new album, a new concert, her new single on the radio. Completely clueless and away from the shadow of the certainty of her death. Although it's a shame that's certainly impossible, my grieve finds shelter in that place inside of me where she will always be alive...laughing...and singing.
